Description
A Polyimide (Kapton™) film Tape ideal for high temperature masking & protection during powder coating, electrical insulation, insulating coils at high temperatures and insulation wrapping.
Features
- An amber coloured 25uM polyamide backing
- High performance silicon adhesive system
- Good thermal stability to 260°C
- Voltage breakdown to 5.5kV
- UL Recognised flame retardant — Class H to 200°C
- RoHS & REACH compliant
Benefits
- A thin, strong and highly conformable polyimide backing
- A highly stable and cohesive silicon adhesive system, offering a high thermal range to 260°C and, up to 400°C short term
- Polyimide films have excellent chemical resistance and so ideal for use in the presence of oils, acids and solvents
- Excellent insulation properties for a given gauge of tape
- Low flammability, they do not melt or burn but turn to char at around 800°C
- Low outgassing rate, making it great for high-vacuum applications
- Polyimide films are self-extinguishing and do not support combustion, hence their popularity for certain applications
Applications
- Electrical
- Mining Resources & Utilities
- Protection & Masking
